Uhh… been working on webcomic and portfolio lately. :B
SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO SAY!
So I was listning to some music I haven’t listen to in a LOOONG time and I forgot all about the song by the Gorillaz - Fire Coming Out of a Monkey’s Head. I loved the little storyboarded music video and I really just wanted to draw em.
I feel like being a longtime fan of them I should do some art of the Gorillaz especially since I didn’t know until recently from a friend that they disband as a group. I hope they return someday.
Hey Meet Karen! first Cast card from my webcomic. I’ll be adding a new one every time a new character int he story is fully established. Also I am back from my “Finals” hiatus so a new page at midnight ESTime tonight!
Took 2 scenes from my storyboards for a little short called “X Mafia Monsters.” Don’t read to much into it… haha I just gave them a final rendered look, though I had to rush them for a project so they were done fast.
uh….so this is a super super short test. :B -it might skip right through it all at first as a glitch so just hit play again if it does…
a super quick sketch I did in a friends sketch-book I just ran over it with colors really super fast….this is just a mess of speed :|
so I want to make myself into a random OC for the hell of it.. not sure why or what for…
I had a Anatomy/Gesture professor a year ago who was fun, crazy, and a very cool dude. He said something to my class on the first day.
He said, “If you notice someone in the class is drawing better or getting the hang of something you can’t do than sit behind them or next to them in class. This way you can learn from them!”
I notice so many people out there forget that there will always be someone better than them. It doesn’t matter how good you become someone will always out do you and someone will always outdo them! Then some people become so jealous, angry, or sad. Sometimes they just loath that person for it, which they shouldn’t.
I like my teachers advice because he was right. Just sitting next to the person or even asking them how they drew something I couldn’t, helped me improve a lot faster than just sitting there loathing the person for being able to do what I couldn’t.
I know this sounds like common sense, but you’d be suprised how many people need to be reminded of this. There is nothing wrong with using someone who is possibly more skilled than you in what your doing. Use it as motivation to become a better artist, just don’t let it eat you up inside.
Don’t forget to have fun with your art! Sometimes trying to constantly strive to be the best can even block your growth too. I’ve seen artists become a lot better at a faster rate just because they finally relaxed and didn’t care anymore.
soooooooooooo-
the end. BUTTS!
WOO rough animation for a short I didnt ever get close to finishing in 2010…
